This blog has recently changed purposes accidentally. I used to use it as a Writing-Journal, but since then I’ve used it as more of a place to put to do lists. I still intend to do this as I think it’s useful for getting myself organized, but I’m going to make it more themed around my school life and my personal organization, meaning this will be a ‘personal blog’ with a strong English/Philosophy/Creative Writing theme, most likely.
If you find it interesting, please feel free to follow/remain a follower, but this blog is more for myself than for followers.
Kurt Vonnegut lectures on the shape of stories
I wish I’d had Vonnegut as a professor. Legend.
- Always try to use the language so as to make quite clear what you mean and make sure your sentence couldn’t mean anything else.
- Always prefer the plain direct word to the long, vague one. Don’t implement promises, but keep them.
- Never use abstract nouns when concrete ones…

Every heard of Daniel Torday? Nope, me neither. At least I hadn’t, until I happened upon the website of independent publisher Nouvella books.

In my last post, I set several deadlines.
Two of them were…
Fixing the timeline with all existing events: 20th June 2011 Plan new events, plots and cons into this new time frame: 23rd June 201 I believe that I have now completed both of these. Whilst I am not entirely happy with the way that a load of cons seem to happen towards the end without the great detail of the initial few but, for now, I can’t see any way round that. When this draft is finished, if the wordcount is still low, I may revisit this issue.
But for now, I am on track. :)
I find deadlines very useful for my writing, as it puts me in the state of mind in which I get things done. I am publicly posting these, and then adding posts to my queue with these specific dates to check on myself that I’ve actually done the tasks. Any support would be gratefully received.
